Bridges Core Philosophies

Bridges unparalleled staffing ratios allow one on one time with the residents.
For nearly two decades the Classen name has been synonymous with exceptional services for Seniors in central New York. Our strategy of success is built on the creation of a healthy natural environment for small groups of seniors, where people live on their own terms, on their schedule, with an emphasis on personal dignity and choice.
Purposely Small
Bridges residences are each limited to less than 15 residents. The residences are beautifully appointed Turn of Century mansions with a quiet social atmosphere. Because Bridges residences are purposefully small, our residents are individuals and friends, never just numbers on a door. We consider each resident as a member of an extended family whose uniqueness is a blessing, not an inconvenience. The homes are situated in the historic neighborhood of Cornell Heights, adjacent to Cornell University and Old Cayuga Heights.
Unparalleled Staffing Ratios
Bridges provides an uncompromising level of care. The average resident to staff ratio is 3 to 1. This is an unprecedented ratio in congregate living. Our staff gives scrupulous attention to the personal care needs of each resident. Our 24 hour staff consists of Registered Nurses, Practical Nurses, Trained Caregivers, A Professional Chef, Activity/Fitness personnel, Valet and Concierge personnel. Our Caregivers are of the highest quality, best trained and among the highest paid in the industry. In addition, they are schooled in a shared language of concern for home environment and the well being of our residents.
Age in Place
When we take someone into our home we accept that eventually their care needs are likely to increase as one ages. With our Enhanced Assisted Living services and licensed home health care services Bridges will be able to accommodate ever changing health care needs and allow our residents the choice and flexibility to age in place while getting the care they need. When we take someone into our home, we accept that person as family would, embracing the goodness as well as the challenges that come with aging.
Our Secret Formula
Our secret formula is simple; identify what really matters to each resident and do it everyday. The answer to what really matters can change and evolve and is as individual as the person. With our Holistic approach to care giving we believe that it’s not just about providing exceptional physical care it’s also about providing good emotional care. Providing personal dignity with every interaction and knowing what really matters to each resident is the foundation of our teachings. It's not one size fits all.
